Pie Face Girls
Pie Face Girls
Reared in the basements and houses of the Raleigh punk scene, Pie Face Girls are a self-taught, self-actualized trio who make a habit of disrupting conventions. Influenced by the grinding distortion of L7 and the Melvins and the DIY showmanship of Bikini Kill and the Germs, Pie Face Girls aim to leave an impression, period. Their debut album, Formative Years, was released this year on Negative Fun Records.
Kamara Thomas
Kamara Thomas
Kamara Thomas, writes hypnotic musical tales and astro-religious songspells-- sometimes personal, sometimes tragic, sometimes true-- culled from the rich and ancient landscape of the American experience.

A myriad of intricate vocal harmonies and multi-instrumental adventures lilt over southern, folk-rock, country-soul, and dreamy pop grooves. In other words, satisfaction guaranteed.
Mary Johnson Rockers with Special Guests
Mary Johnson Rockers with Special Guests
Mary Johnson Rockers is a Durham-based singer songwriter with roots in the South, a heart for social justice, and two decades of performing, collaborating and recording with area notables to her name. Alongside the impeccable harmonies of Miriam Chicurel-Bayard she delivers a diverse repertoire of lyrically charged songs in subtle twang. “The songs are so catchy, well-written and eclectic…nearly irresistible.” – Chris Parker, Indy Week. For the pre-convention show Mary is joined by Miriam Chicurel-Bayard (vocals), Robert Cantrell on percussion (Hobex, Tim Smith Band) and special guest cellist and songwriter Josh Starmer (Birds and Arrows, Josh Starmer and the Starmakers).
Jooselord Magnus
Jooselord Magnus
“If you took the Message of Kendrick and KRS one, The unapologetic Vulgarness of Tyler The Creator and Redman, and the Raw energy of DMX and Waka Flocka .... Then you would get Joose .. He’s a lyrical ball of energetic consciousness and rage.”

In a scene where even the self-proclaimed weirdos find themselves blending in with their peers, it has become harder and harder to truly be different and mean it. While those who fall short can point to a lack of pure talent, or that ever-so-allusive "it" factor, Jooselord Magnus boasts a plethora of both.
An eccentric emcee who originally hails from Harlem, New York, Jooselord has developed notoriety through a touring schedule in North Carolina that would translate in the "real world" to a 60-hour work week. This momentum has been directly in support of his highly-anticipated upcoming debut album, "S.K.U.L.L.," slated for an April release.
