Wicca Phase made its debut in 2012 with "Bite My Ear," a single on Run for Cover Records which featured guest vocals by fellow Tigers Jaw member Brianna Collins. Shortly after Wicca Phase released the Fantasy Camp-produced mixtape #FEB13 on Valentine's Day of 2013, McIlwee and two other group members (Pat Brier and Dennis Mishko) announced their departure from Tigers Jaw. Wicca Phase continued issuing mixtapes and EPs, and made guest appearances on albums by GDP, Spooky Black, and Noah23. Full-length Secret Boy was released by Disposition Collective in 2016.
He’s known for his genre-bending music, mixing hip hop music with punk and rock elements, as well as the ever popular and ever-evolving genre known as “emo-trap”. Notable other artists in the “emo-trap” genre consist of the late Lil Peep, Convolk, nothing, nowhere., Lil Lotus and majority of the GBC collective a.k.a. GothBoiClique.
Smrtdeath is even in his own rap group along with Lil Aaron and Lil Lotus called BOYFRIENDZ. They have released one self titled album together titled BOYFRIENDZ, which was released December 6, 2017 which is also the same day the rap collective started.
He released his debut full-length album titled Sethany on November 21, 2017 and an EP, Sethany the Strange on December 22, 2017.
Smrtdeath translates to “deathdeath” as in most slavic languages, Smrt means death.
At the tender age of 14, Fantasy Camp channeled his passion for music and unique artistic style into producing. By age 15, he had teamed up with underground icon Wicca Phase Springs Eternal. Fantasy Camp produced Wicca’s first album, “Feb 13” in 2012.
Following the success of "Feb 13," Fantasy Camp produced for several emo heavyweights, including Goth Boi Clique members Horse Head and Cold Hart. Soon after, he showcased his singing abilities by releasing “Another Heart 2 Break” with Zubin. Fantasy Camp’s melodically heavy full length, appropriately named “One For Sorrow,” was released in February.
For his most recent endeavor, Fantasy Camp has collaborated with an all-star emo rap line-up composed of Wicca Phase, Zubin, Jon Simmons, Foxwedding, and Nedarb Nagrom. The project is a modern emo boy band with a name indicative of the morose emo culture: Misery Club. Their debut EP, “Club Misery,” was released in May. The EP is drenched in divine sadness and delicate harmonious vocals. The lyrical content grabs hold of the listeners emotion with intricate metaphors that leave a haunted sense of despair and heartbreak in the most alluring way.
His next project is the highly anticipated “How to Fix Everything” EP, which is slated to drop this summer.
